Therapy for Coping With Chronic Illness – Reclaim Control & Confidence
Being diagnosed with a chronic medical condition can feel overwhelming—whether it happened yesterday or years ago. Support isn’t always easy to find, but therapy can help you cope, adapt, and feel more in control of your daily life and emotional well-being.
What We Can Work On Together
When health changes, your identity, relationships, and goals may shift too. Together, we’ll build a therapy plan that centers you—your strengths, values, and needs.
Common goals include:
Increasing support and connection
Practicing assertive communication (with doctors, family, partners)
Rebuilding confidence after diagnosis or medical trauma
Setting healthy boundaries
Identifying what matters to you now
Reframing unhelpful or self-critical thoughts
Learning mindfulness, grounding, and self-regulation skills
Whether you’re navigating new symptoms or managing long-term illness, you're not alone here.
My Approach
I use a blend of evidence-based methods designed to help people live meaningful lives, even when health challenges arise:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
CBT for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP) (if applicable)
We’ll move at your pace, using strategies that support healing—not pressure or perfection.
