Welcome! I’m Jack Bartel, Psy.D. (He/Him) and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and LGBTQ+ health educator and consultant. I formed The Evergreen Initiative, LLC with two goals in mind:
To provide quality education and training to businesses and healthcare organizations
To provide affirmative, empathetic, and ethical mental healthcare specifically for the LGBTQ+ community and allies

I am solutions focused, collaborative, encourage open dialogue, and use of humor. I believe in an open, affirming treatment experience for all. I use a blend of interventions primarily; cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and Transdiagnostic LGBTQ affirmative cognitive behavioral therapy.
As an LGBTQ+ therapist I know a one size fits all approach to healthcare doesn’t work and seek to individualize your experience while maintaining the highest standards for integrity and ethics.
Providing you with an affirming and safe space
All appointments are 100% virtual, which means you can complete them from home or any other private space where you feel comfortable and able to express how you feel. I understand life doesn't always go as planned and hope to help you feel more balanced, improve quality of life, and live better.

I have been described as having "sharp quick wit" and aim to make all my material conversational, relatable, applicable, and easy to understand.
As a queer transgender individual I understand the importance of increased education and awareness surrounding the LGBTQ+ community, but most importantly action needed towards change for LGBTQ+ individuals in all spaces.
My goal is to bring you comprehensive options and solutions for learning more about how to best serve the LGBTQ+ community, as well as, when creating or maintaining an inclusive LGBTQ+ atmosphere.
