Who I Help, Part 1: LGBTQ+ Adults and Gender-Affirming Care

Introduction:
Living authentically as a transgender, non-binary, or gender-diverse adult can be one of the most rewarding experiences in life, but it can also come with significant challenges. From navigating a world that often misunderstands or invalidates your identity to managing anxiety, depression, or gender dysphoria, the journey can feel overwhelming. Many LGBTQ+ adults face barriers in accessing care that truly respects their identity, leaving them frustrated, exhausted, or unsure where to turn.

At The Evergreen Initiative, LLC, I provide compassionate, affirming, and professional support designed specifically for the transgender, non-binary, and LGB+ community. Whether you are exploring your gender identity, preparing for hormone therapy or surgeries, or seeking therapy to cope with stress and minority stress, my goal is to provide a safe space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered. Here, gender-affirming care is not just about medical steps, it is about supporting your mental health, autonomy, and overall well-being at every stage of your journey.

Who I Help:
I work with LGBTQ+ adults navigating a wide range of experiences, including:

  • Preparing for hormone therapy or surgeries and needing WPATH-aligned letters of support that meet medical, legal, and insurance requirements

  • Exploring or clarifying their gender identity or expression

  • Coping with gender dysphoria and its impact on mental health

  • Managing anxiety, depression, or stress related to minority stress and discrimination

  • Navigating family, workplace, or social challenges while maintaining authenticity

  • Building resilience and self-confidence for personal and medical decision-making

How I Can Help:
My approach combines professional expertise with lived experience to ensure each client feels respected, seen, and supported. Specific ways I help include:

  • Gender-Affirming Letters of Support:
I provide fast, compassionate, WPATH-aligned letters for hormone therapy, top surgery, bottom surgery, and other procedures. I work with you to prepare thoroughly, discuss your goals, and ensure your letter meets medical, insurance, and legal standards without shame or gatekeeping.

  • Individual Gender-Affirming Therapy:
Through virtual sessions, I help you process emotions, explore your identity, and develop strategies for coping with dysphoria, minority stress, or challenging environments. Sessions are tailored to your goals and use evidence-based practices such as LGBTQ-Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

  • LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy:
If you have struggled to find a therapist who truly understands your lived experience, I provide a safe, culturally competent space. Together, we can focus on:

    • Coming out and self-advocacy in family, work, or healthcare

    • Coping with and living in non-affirming environments

    • Unlearning internalized transphobia, homophobia, or other biases

    • Navigating romantic and sexual relationships

    • Addressing general mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, and adjustment

Why This Matters:
Affirming care goes beyond medical interventions. It is about supporting your mental and emotional well-being as you live authentically. Gender-affirming therapy, social transition, hormone therapy, and surgeries can dramatically reduce anxiety, depression, and gender dysphoria, helping you feel more at home in your body and life. Mental health support ensures that every step of your journey is intentional, safe, and empowering, giving you the tools to navigate challenges, process emotions, and thrive in your identity.
